Do I need a hdmi cable to use my smart phone as a modem or can i use a usb?

You can also use a USB cable instead of an hdmi cable. You will click on 'start' then 'programs' then 'modem link'. Next, select the 'USB' under connections and ensure that the access point name is wap.cingular. After that, tap on 'activate' and then connect your phone using the USB cable. Next, choose "Install from a specific location", then follow the on screen instructions and click 'Finish'.
