Why do you get cramps when you run?

I get them in my side and stomach

Some research has shown that drinking high-sugar beverages before exercise increases the likelihood of stitches and cramps. It also occurs when someone is dehydrated; this builds up lactic acid in your stomach.

Ur breathing fast and short u need to take very deep breaths so it doesn't happen that's what I do in basketball
