Am I pregnant? Can I get pregnant on antibiotics and no birth control?

I had my appendix taken out in the middle of march. I had my period toward the end of the month and it was heavy from the blood thiner they gave me in the hospital. I am not on birth control and use the pull out method. I am 2 days late, did the antibiotics make it easier to get pregnant?

Yes because Antibiotics are not preventive pregnancy Rx (prophylactic).

Antibiotics can raise your chances of getting pregnant IF you are on birth control. The antibiotics lower the effectiveness of the birth control but because you are not on birth control at all and use the pull out method, I'd say antibiotics would not be a playing factor here. Best thing you can do is buy a pregnancy test, in the case you are not pregnant, for the future, condoms are very cheap and effective.

Like the others have said, antibiotics can lower the effectiveness of some birth control. I also wouldn't discount the fact that your body just went through some major stress with the appendectomy which might lead to your cycle being a bit off. I had my appendix out in December and my period was different for a couple months after that. The only way to know for sure is a pregnancy test.
