I recently just got a job @ Walmart, but haven't started yet. Will they let me take a week off for a vacation I've had planned for 2 months?

This is something you should have brought up at the interview or when you were hired. Some places will allow it others won't.

Most places are going to completely frown upon it and possibly fire you. you can't get a job and right away take a week off. dont expect to keep your job if you do that.

Did you tell Walmart you needed the 2 weeks off prior to being hired? If not they don't have to let you take the days off that you need. Especially since you are the "low man on the totem pole".

Walmart is definitely an employer that will not agree to you taking a week off, not even after being there for the number of years required to accrue vacation time. And don't even think about thinking up an excuse. EXAMPLE~~~ several people that I know that were 7-10 year employees got terminated for things like spouses being gravely ill and in hospital, spouses dying, the employees themselves being in hospital. These 3 incidents were for taking 5-7 days off work.

They should have been covered by the Family Medical Leave Act.

As hard as jobs are to come by these days, I would so totally NOT ask.

Let them know now, before they put you on the schedule, then you can just start working when you get back. As long as you let them know that it was planned in advance, they are usually ok, but you need to let them know ASAP. Don't start working and then tell them, because then they won't let you off.

Idk but hopefully they will and you can keep your job and still go on your vacation you're planning. Good luck
