What scared Jim Carrey in the Stanley Hotel in room 217?

Jim Carrey stayed at the Stanley hotel in 217, but after two hours in the room he left the whole building. I want to know what happened to him that made him leave after just two hours in that room. I want to know what happened. Why did he want to get out of there so fast?

Occupants of room 217 have reported such anomalies as an apparition of a woman coming out of the wall and the TV mysteriously turning itself on and off. Actor Jim Carrey reputedly stayed in the room for only 3 hours before bolting out of the hotel without a word, never to return. One wonders if he encountered Mrs. Wilson. Incidentally, other famous inhabitants of 217 include Stephen King, Teddy Roosevelt and the ?Unsinkable? Molly Brown

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in room 217. We could hear footsteps walking around the bed. My dress was hung in the bathroom closet. Things were moved in the room. But the two things that freaked me out were the sounds of two doors that would open and close where there were no doors. The other was the big band music that woke us out of a dead sleep. We totally forgot about the dance hall right below our room until the next day. This was our 2nd time staying at The Stanley. Our 1st stay was in room 220 and it was active in less than 15 mins after our check-in. So active the next day I wanted to check out. But after talking with Billy Ward I felt better about staying in the room. In room 220 there are many reports of a little boy. I hope everyone can check out The Stanley. It won't let you down!
