The most valuable types of Susan B. Anthony dollars are those in the 1979 and 1981 proof sets. Types I and II have S mint marks. The “Clear S” or Type II S from 1979 and 1981 is rarer and are valued at more than $100 depending on the condition. The “Wide Border” or the 1979 P “Near Date” coin can command around $10. Most of the Susan B Anthony dollars, however, are worth their face value.
If circulated, most Susan B. Anthony dollar coins are only worth their face value. Dollar coins that are marked with the letters "D," "S," or "P" that represent U.S. Mint facilities in Denver, San Francisco, or Philadelphia may be worth up to $4 to a collector, if the coin is in pristine condition.
