A major factor which lead to the Industrial revolution beginning in Britain was the shift from agrarian economy to machine-based industry. This was prompted by the invention of machinery to streamline textile production and the use of coal to generate power.

There were many factors which led to the Industrial Revolution in Britain. Higher populations were a main factor along with the inventions of new and better agricultural machinery.
