Preparing lasagna ahead of time is a great idea! I like to par boil, or half cook, my noodles, cook my filling, and have everything ready to assemble. Then, you start with sauce first in the pan, a layer of noodles, a layer of sauce and meat, more noodles, the ricotta cheese layer, more noodles, and repeat until you've used all of your ingredients. Make sure you press down each layer after you add the top layers of noodles. Cover it with plastic wrap or foil and keep it refrigerated until 1 hour before you plan to bake it.Don't add the layer of shredded cheese to the top until you are ready to bake the lasagna.
