What Can I Use instead of Cheesecloth?

Report as

You can substitute a clean, unused coffee filter for cheesecloth in some instances. Coffee filters can be used to drain yogurt to make yogurt cheese as well as used to remove pulp from juices and homemade wines.

A small strainer or coffee filter can be used in place of a cheesecloth. Layered paper towels will also work as a substitute.

You can use a flour sack kitchen towel, or any old thin cloth (even from old clothing) that you have sitting around. You could also layer some thick paper towels together to use in place of a cheesecloth.

There are a few substitutions for cheese cloth when you don't have any handy. Try using a fine mesh strainer instead or even a coffee filter placed in the bottom of a colander.
