What Heart Rate Is Dangerous?
Having a heart rate that is either to high or to low for your age can be dangerous. For instance, a newborn baby can have a heart rate of 120 while an adult would be going into cardiac arrest with his rate.
Heart rates greater than 120 beats per minute are dangerous. A heart rate that exceeds the normal range is called tachycardia.
A heart rate of anything lower than 60 beats per minute is called Bradycardia. Look here for more information: http://www.hrsonline.org/patientinfo/symptomsdiagnosis/slowheart/.
Heart rates vary depending on the person. Resting heart rates also play a role in what too high can be. Speaking with your doctor may be the best way to know your ideal heart rate for your build.
Anything above 120 beats per minute, is considered fairly dangerous. Anything above 140 can be considered an emergency for adults.
