Engine makes knocking noise and when i open oil cap spits oil blows air, fyi they car hasnt been running for about year.

this is 2009 altima 2.5 engine with 40k, knocking is very lound when starts (like diesel engine) but than when warms up stops.
im hoping is not anything major, i hope someone can tell me whats wrong

Hard to say...sounds to me like a bearing knock.Try changing the oil and filter before you start it anymore.Also get "SEA FOAM" from any autu parts store and add it to the oil.DO NOT start it anymore till you do this.At 40k you might save this engine.
