I need to know how to file a 1098-MA, or know if I even need to. It is mortgage assistance received just for one month. Return filed already

I used TaxAct, and they have no forms in their system for this. Is it necessary to ammend my return? Anyone familiar with this form and how to file it? Thanks

If you itemize you would have to show it. If you take a standard deduction there is no need too as you dont get the credit anyway. I looked all over the internet and I think the only time this is an issue is when you can itemize and get a bigger credit. I never have enough to not use the standard so I will just call my IRS gal to be sure then send in my taxes.

To file a 1098 MA form, you need to check the void or corrected box at the top of the page. Enter your name, telephone number and address in the first box. You can call or visit the IRS website to get some assistance. Get information on http://www.ehow.com/how_2156935_fill-out-irs-form-1098.html.
