My left big toe has been going numb for no reason lately, im getting freaked out!

I'm a healthy 23 yr old female 125lbs, 5'9", could this be diabetes? I'm also an anemic, but take my iron pills daily.

Okay Ethel, you & Fred should check your shoes. If you've seen a doc. & you're taking care of your Iron poor blood, chances are good that you would have had your blood sugar checked. Heels are a killer for many women, especially if you've got "wide" feet. If your shoes are comfortable & not causing any pain at all, take notice of when the numbness occurs. It could be something as simple as the way you sit. It could just be bad circulation, but it sounds like you're healthy. If it continues to bother you, & you've checked out everything on your own-like meds., diet, activities, shoes, habits-go see your doc. It's probably nothing to worry about-but peace of mind is worth a few $s

One more suggestion-numbness in your foot or leg CAN indicate something like a ruptured disc-have you had a bad fall lately? But yes, diabetes is really hard on your feet, too many people end up with amputated toes....please go see your doctor ASAP......
