Many truck driving companies will not hire applicants who have been convicted of a major felony crime within the past 10 years. This includes convictions for selling drugs, robbery, arson, kidnapping, terrorism, and serious sex-crimes. All truck driving carriers perform background checks on applicants so please be honest about your past on the application. If your felony doesn't consist of these felones and you are honest about your past they tend to hire you.
You can get the permit but you will not get hired becouse of the New Rules with Insurence Co's... You will not be allowed into Canada.Never with a conviction. It is a shame to keep geting a punishment for somthing that you have already paid for. I have alot of applications that come across my desk. They are very good drivers with proven track records but I cannot afford to insure them. Sorry !
