I personally think that people should be free to protect themselves, though I disagree with violence altogether.
Also, the second amendment was written in a different context than we are in now; when it was written, citizens had to be able to form militias to protect their property, so I think that people take it too seriously now considering the context.
Yes I have had guns my whole life and got my orange card when I was 8 but I do think that you should have to go through a safety course to own guns that way anytime someone is caught with a gun and doesn't have a license they get the gun taken away
It depends on the situation. If you have to hunt to survive, then yes. If your house has gotten broken into before, yes. If you have gotten attacked before, yes. But if you want one to use it on people, definitely not.
I personally don't like the idea, it would have been a good idea back in the 18th or 19th centuries. These days people should stay away from guns. Remember Virginia Tech or some other college that suffered fatalities due to students being allowed to bear arms. The right to bear arms in the Constitution was meant to protect the lives and properties of the citizens from invaders such as the British or Native Americans. And protection from criminals isn't even your job; that's what the police is made for.
