Once a property goes into foreclosure how long do the occupants have before they must give up the property?

This is usually different from state to state so it would be best if you talked to an attorney about this. On the whole, in residential foreclosures, you can stay in the house up to 30 days after a judge confirms the foreclosure sale, after which a the mortgage company can have the sheriff evict you.
