Unplug everything in your house that you are not using. Toasters electric can openers DVD players radios lamps everything your not using and you can safe as much as $200 a year or more.

I have a timer on my water heater, and electric meter to measure result.
Water heater timer saves money by rationing hot water, and that causes consumption to fall.
So the true savings is from reducing consumption. For example taking shower instead of bath saves 10 gallons hot each time.
Otherwise it does not make sense to turn temperature down at night
However it does make sense to keep water temperature lower, if hot water does not run out, and then turn temperature up on wash day.
