I personally don't believe the schools should have been given the right to conduct such invasive tests of minor children, but unfortunately, they have that right. BUT-if this does require parental consent, I'd urge ALL parents to refuse that consent. Its one thing to be a student athlete & they should be tested for steroid use, but if we're going to allow any kind of mandatory drug testing for students, then all school staff, from maintenance to principal, should also be regularly tested.
Yes they can if they have a reason. They can also go through her locker & belongings. You can fight it in court, people have, some have won. All school policies are in writing, & a copy is supposed to be given to all students parents & guardians. Most of us don't bother reading the fine print-(I know I don't). If you do not have a copy, go to the school & get one. You can also join, take part, or just sit in on PTA policy making.

No they can't. She is a minor and they cannot question her or test her without her parents' consent or presence. Contact the police and school board to ascertain your rights. Lockers can be searched because they are the property of the school.
