How does Soil Affect Plant Growth

Report as

Soil can affect plant growth in many ways. If there are not enough nutrients, it will not grow as well as it should. If it has too much clay, it won't drain well and will stay too wet or prevent roots being able to spread. If it's too sandy, it will drain too quickly.

Soil affects plants according to its chemical composition. Every plant requires different nutrients to grow and thrive. If the soil is rich in the chemicals such as nitrogen that the plant needs the plant will grow faster and last longer.

Plants get their nutrients from the soil. They get their water from the soil. Plants use the soil to anchor themselves from nature, like wind. However, if there is a high level of Caffine and Salt or Clay in the Soil, then the plant would not grow as high.

Micro nutrient can be more or less toxic to the plants. In soil with high copper or aluminium level, only a limited number of plants can grow.
