If someone makes $8.75 a hour,how much rent should you be able to pay comfortably?

I read somewhere that u should only pay 30% of rent depending on your income.

30% of your total income is a good amount to shoot for. That depends on you. The more you rent is the less money you have for everything else like the power bill and water bill etc. Those should be included when trying to figure out the percentage per month you are going to spend. Depending on where you live though, a lot of times it's hard or impossible to find a place to rent in that price range so you may have to up the percent that you're considering or maybe take on a second part time job to help supplement the extra rent money.

30% is a good idea. Some pay as much as 50% or even higher, but it is unlikely that their finances are good.

That would all depend on the place the person decides to live in since the rent rates can vary. It will also depend on the state that you are in as this can affect the rates as well. The average amount charged can range from $100 dollars and can be lower or higher based on the facts.
