Everyone who has appliance in their homes that burn fossil fuels should have a detector. You should place your detector five feet above the floor on the wall for the best results. Each floor of your home should have it's own detector.
The location of a carbon monoxide detector is important. It is recommended to place it within 15 feet of each bedroom in the house, so that is can be heard if it goes off.
