Why was Helen Keller Important

She came down with a high fever as a baby and people thought that she wouldn't live, but she did. There was just one problem, the fever had left her blind and deaf. But she learned how to talk, read, write, fly an airplane, go camping, go horseback riding, and she learned how to know what others are saying.

Helen Keller in important because she proved that a person who was deaf and blind could still be a functional member of society. She was the first deaf and blind person to receive a bachelors degree.

Helen Keller was important was important because she inspired people blind deaf or even both that they can be equal like everyone else.
