What does a Chestnut Look Like

Chestnuts are a round brown nut around an inch in diameter. Chestnuts are actually the seeds of chestnut trees similar to acorns. A chestnut tree does not actually grow any seeds until it is 30-40 years old. You can find more information here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chestnut

When chestnuts are still on the tree they appear to be hairy. They are brown in color and the shade varies per variety. Once they are harvested the look like a brown nut that varies in size and color.
