I did a study once on the Lord's Prayer and tried to not only to understand the basic concepts in it but also tried to figure out why certain words were used assuming that Jesus didn't just speak things randomly. Sort of like you might study a famous author's poem. For instance why would Jesus say hallowed be Thy name? Is He saying God's name is holy and shouldn't be taken in vain? Is He saying that if a name speaks of the character then God's name would be HOLY? Or is Jesus merely using holy as a title out of respect? It was an interesting study that took our group about 3 months to complete and could have taken longer. Have fun
It has helped me in the pass to be sure that you are in context and look at what it says, and not what you THINK it means, also pay attention to what it doesn't say. Remember it's the sum of Gods word (Psalms 119:160) and not bits and peaces.
