On my iPod touch 4g beside the back camera what is that dot!?!?

Its not a flash! or a microphone! It is a light sensor so if you go into a dark spot somewhere it brightens up the screen! You can control this in your brightness settings.
This is proven on the apple website.

That dot on your iPhone 4 next to the camera is your flash. If you go to take a picture turn the phone around and you will see the flash go off.

On the iPod touch 4, the dot next to the back camera is a microphone...not a flash. The iPhone has a flash, not the iPod. :)

No there's a mic at the bottom by the charger cord plug in
