Roy Raymond opened a small lingerie shop in Stanford Shopping Center in 1977 with $40,000 borrowed from the bank, and $40,000 borrowed from relatives. The company earned $500,000 it's first year in business and within five years and five stores later, was earning a gross income of $6 million a year. Today it is the lingerie dynasty we all know!
While it's now owned by The Limited, Victoria's Secret was originally founded by Roy Raymond in San Francisco, CA in 1977. He opened them to create a warm, non-embarrassing place for men to buy lingerie for their ladies (and to make money.)
Ronald McDonald did so in the year of 1496 when he decided his sexy and very busty wife should have more scantier clothing to give him easy access to her awesome body. So, he and his three loser friends began producing scanty bikinis, and, thus, Victoria Secret was established.
