I need help. my toilet want flush and i noticed it was out of water. should i try filling it up and see if will work?

i put some in it lat night but it didn't work but i think it was because it wasn't enough? help!!!!!

Take the lid off the back of the toilet and pour water in that part..

it will work if you do...the valve,the ball that raises may be stuck see if it is down
you probably need a flowmaster

If your toilet keeps running water but the tank isn't filling up, look to replace your ball valve--it's leaking. Another possible cause is that your in-fill valve is clogged with debris (usually rust or crumbs of a deteriorating old pipe)--replace it, if this is the case, but brace yourself for frequent replacement.

I assume your floors aren't wet. If they are, the next place to look is for a failure of the seal between the tank and the stool, and replacing that seal is in order. This is a job that's not for the faint of heart, though, as it involves removing the tank completely off the stool.

If you need to flush the toilet right away even though your tank is empty, use buckets full of water to fill up the tank and then flush immediately.

Probably is the float valve stuck shut, or clogged. You can flush by pouring 3-5 gal of water rapidly and directly into the bowl.
