My dog LOVES carrots. Can I feed them to her?

She's a long-haired, medium-sized, black American Cocker Spaniel who's 14 in human years and about 92 years old in dog years. She had a stroke two years ago. Give me an answer A.S.A.P!!

sorry, but this is all wrong. Carrots are packed full of nutrients and antioxidants and if fed properly can improve your cockers quality of life and even extend it as well. If fed raw your dog will receive little nutrients from the carrots as dogs cannot digest cellulose. Neither can humans but we have teeth that allow us to break down the cell walls. You could cook them slightly for her to allow her to benefit from all the good things in carrots. I feed my two dogs dehydrated carrots with every meal and they love it.

Call and ask the vet first before you decide to do anything.

Yes, in moderation. A baby carrot every other day would be healthy for your dog. My chihuahua's love baby carrots as snacks. One of my dog's was overweight and the vet suggested carrots.

Yes, as long as its small enough the dog won't choke on it! Not too many though!

It's absolutely ok if given as a treat. Just don't load 'em up with carrots all day . It was really wicked when my dogs eyes got orange from his carrot treats. Friends thought he had hepatitis. (:
