Skunk spray can linger in your house for a long time, so allowing it to air out as often as possible is a good thing. If your pet has been sprayed, and comes into the house, then washing them immediately with tomato juice or a mixture of 1qt peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda, and a couple tsp of liquid dish soap (for smaller dogs), will do the trick. If you are the one that got sprayed, carefully make your way to the shower without touching too much stuff and wash thoroughly. Clean fabrics with baking soda, vinegar and laundry detergent, line dry outside because the sun and fresh air will aid in the removal of the smell. Replacing your furnace air filter will also help in removing the smell from the house, if you don't replace it, the smell is trapped in the old one and can recirculate through the house, keeping the smell inside. Remember to air it all out, fresh air does a lot of good.
