What do I do if my rabbit keeps dumping her food over?

I have a lionhead rabbit that dumps over her food bowl. She dumps her food everywhere. we tried glueing the bowl to the bottom of the cage but it didn't work. I don't want to waste to much rabbit food. What should I do?

Hello fellow rabbit lover! How big is the rabbit and the bowl? You could try a heavier crock or stick a big rock in it but I guarantee you she will keep trying. Does she eat any of it before she dumps it or is it after a certain point? Make sure you are only feeding as much as she needs and not more, because she might eat her fill and then want to play. (Rule of thumb, lots of hay, little pellets) Rabbits are picky eaters and that could also be her way of saying she doesn't like it (which says nothing against you, she might just be acting bratty).

Get a big piece of velcro , attach to bottom of bowl, and other half to cage.

You need to devise a way that will only allow the rabbits to be able to access the food without walking over it. Devise a platform that it can only access the food by stretching her head to reach the food. The platform has to be a permanent structure just to eliminate the possibility of it trampling over it.

That sounds like a good idea. Thanks! I will try it too. :)

The reason she does that might be because she can't reach her food if the bowl is standing. My guinea pigs used to do that, and I realized it was because there bowl was too tall, and they couldn't reach it. That might be the same case as your bunny, so try getting a smaller bowl.

Hope this helps
