Is Crisco (Lard) a good skin conditioner

My Dermatologist tells me it is better and much cheaper than the scented high priced moisturizer body lotions. What do you know about it?

I have heard many actresses use Crisco for moisturizer their skin. They say it's good for the wrinkles that come with aging. A little goes a long way.

Would vaseline act as Crisco? Vaseline is very good also and probably not as greasy, I have used it on my hands when washing dishes and wearing rubber gloves. My hands are so soft after I take off the gloves.
I have had good luck with dry skin on my face. Vaseline works well for me.

My understanding is that vasoline is petroleum jelly as such is not as protective and long-lasting.
