Why do we obey authority? Should we always obey people in authority? If not, what conditions warrant or justify disobedience?

Report as

We obey people in authority to keep order and maintain discipline. I don't think you always have to obey authority especially when they want you to do something that is morally or legally wrong.

i believe that authority is made to create order but sometimes even authority is wrong, and you have to be able to stand up for what you believe in but do it with respect, they are in charge for a reason

Without it, we'd live in total chaos, but too much of it you end up with a communist nightmare.

Well if they ask you to do something illegal thats a good time to disobey. Or outside a law enforcement situation, defense or a war situation you shouldnt agree to harm others either.
