Why do my legs keep cramping at night?

I wake up sometimes and I have a cramp in my caff. i have to stand up and walk around for it to go away. and it's usually in my right leg. I don't see it as a big deal I just want to know why it happens.

you can stay in bed lengthen the leg and pull your toes towards your head for 30 seconds

It might be growing pains because when I was younger I had growing pains ask your doctor also try Benagay it is a muscle cream it helps me you just rub some cream on your leg and it feels like it is really hot and freezing at the same time and it relaxes muscles.
