I have an external hard drive that i see all the files i have, but it wont run all of them what should i do to restore these files?

I think the first thing I would do is to transfer the files you want to open to your computer. Try and open them from there. If could be that you no longer have the program that's associated with the files or they may be corrupted.

It doesn't transfer all the files. It doesn't even show all the thumbnails in a photo folder just half only the files that working.
;( I have to save the files. It's my life history.
