dunczn: Functionally, there is really no difference between the two. "How come" is typically used to satisfy someone's curiosity, and "why" to inquire for reasons, causes, or the purpose (s) for things.
jordanne: Generally by age 17 most people are done growing, so unless you have some type of growing disorder or you have only recently gone through puberty, you're probably done.
