To get rid of raccoon eyes, or dark circles under the eyes, take a multivitamin, and put something cool on your eyes. Use an eye cream and concealer.
- Take a multivitamin
Take a multivitamin each day with a meal. Under-eye bags have been linked to a lack of B6, folic acid and B12. Calcium and magnesium help improve adrenal function. Over-the-counter allergy medicines help reduce nasal congestion, which is one of the primary causes of dark eye circles. Reduce your salt intake and quit smoking to improve your circulation, which helps reduce darkness under your eyes.
- Put something cool on your eyes
Stop rubbing your eyes, because it causes damage to the delicate blood vessels under the eyes. To prevent puffiness, splash cold water on your eyes in the morning. You may also put two spoons in the freezer for about 5 minutes, then gently place them on your eyes for 5 minutes. Another option is putting two bags of chamomile tea in the refrigerator overnight and leaving them on your eyes for 15 minutes.
- Use eye cream and concealer
Apply an eye cream with concentrated vitamin C or vitamin K underneath your eyes. If you still have dark circles, use a makeup concealer to cover them up.
