It was the company's first foray into electronics. In the 1970s, the company also began manufacturing color televisions, household appliances and microwave ovens. In the 1980s, it continued to develop its technology divisions and, in the early 1990s, developed its first mobile phones. By the turn of the 21st century, the company had formed an aerospace industry along with Korean corporate giants Daewoo and Hyundai.
