Lenovo computers are made by the Chinese multinational corporation Lenovo Group, Ltd. This company was founded in Beijing in 1984 and was originally named Legend. In 2005, Lenovo bought American company IBM's personal computer business, and as of 2014, it is the largest vendor of personal computers in the world.

As of 2014, the chairman and CEO is Yang Yuanqing. Company stock is traded on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and annual revenue was reported as $38 billion in 2014.
