EBay sells things on a person's behalf through its Sell for Me service. The owner of the item receives 70 percent of the sale price. In order to facilitate the sale, the owner ships or takes the item to a local drop-off center.
To use this service, visit eBay's Sell for Me page to arrange the details of the sale and to set up payment information. Next, pack up the item and either ship or carry it to a drop-off center. EBay's valets take care of selling and shipping the item to the buyer. Receiving money is an automatic process once the sale is made.
Review the rules before using this service. There is a minimum dollar amount for these sales, and there is also a weight limit. No breakable items, clothes or media besides box sets or collectibles are permitted. High-value items that require appraisal or verification, such as watches and art, and items that require a license or code to work are banned, as well.
