What Are the Causes of Misbehavior in the Classroom?
Misbehavior in the classroom occurs for many reasons. Children may misbehave because they are seeking attention or lack self-confidence. If there is a problem at home, such as inadequate sleep, it may lead to misbehavior during school hours. Learning difficulties and attention problems are also sources of misbehavior.
If a child feels he does not get enough positive attention at home, he may misbehave at school by talking out of turn or refusing to complete in-class assignments. A lack of self-confidence produces similar results. If a child does not feel confident enough to complete an assignment, he may look around the room, fidget in his seat or act out in other ways.
