What College Accepts an IEP Diploma?

No accredited college accepts students with IEP diplomas. Students with IEP diplomas may be able to attend a community college if they are able to fulfill other requirements such as an “Ability to Benefit” test. Any school that does not require a high school diploma or GED would most likely accept a student with an IEP diploma, since this diploma is not the equivalent of a high school diploma.

IEP diplomas are available to those students enrolled in special education programs who cannot earn a regular high school diploma. The IEP diploma alone is not sufficient for military enlistment or most two-year college enrollment, since it simply indicates that a student has completed IEP goals. Students with IEP diplomas can pursue a regular high school diploma, or take the GED exam, until they turn 21.
