Why Do You Deserve This Scholarship?

Reasons a person might deserve a scholarship include that he is persistent, unique and able to overcome a variety of obstacles. An individual might have to demonstrate why he is deserving of a scholarship several times before he is finally awarded with a scholarship.

Persistence can be a huge deciding factor in whether or not someone deserves a scholarship. In many cases, scholarships are subjective, which means an individual might need to alter how he answers similar questions on different scholarship applications slightly. This shows a willingness to adapt to different situations, which can work to the advantage of the scholarship applicant.

Showing a level of uniqueness helps a scholarship applicant stand out and demonstrate his personal voice. Having a unique voice while applying for a scholarship also gives the applicant a chance to demonstrate his special qualities.

Being able to overcome obstacles and having a willingness to overcome obstacles also serve as an asset while applying for a scholarship. Rather than seeing past obstacles as setbacks, they can be used as fuel and as a discussion point in a scholarship application to show that an individual has the ability to turn a negative situation into a valuable learning opportunity.
