The purpose of enrichment activities is to enhance the educational learning being done in the classroom. Whenever possible, enrichment activities should be cross-curricular and consider the interests of the students.

Enrichment programs are often interactive and project-focused. They enhance a student’s education by bringing new concepts to light or by using old concepts in new ways.These activities are fun for the student, but they also impart knowledge. Other benefits from enrichment activities appear to provide leadership and social skills development. These skills can help to build greater self-esteem and higher goal achievement in both current academic situations and in the pursuit of long-term careers.

Planning and creativity are important qualities for the enrichment developer, so that he may make the most out of each activity for the students.
