What Are Some Examples of Traditional Teaching Methods?

Traditional teaching methods are described as being teacher-oriented, in a lecture style and are inflexible. Lessons are usually taught by the teacher introducing skills using a blackboard accompanied by a verbal explanation or lecture. A disadvantage of this traditional method is that students who have learning difficulties are unable to cope with how the lessons are delivered. Above-average students are also disadvantaged because the lessons aren’t challenging enough. This means that students in either category are at an instant disadvantage compared to an average student without a learning disability.
