The University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus provides a free day care service in partnership with the Puerto Rican Department of Family. There are also several other universities in Puerto Rico that have day cares on campus.

The University of Puerto Rico's Rio Piedras Campus has an onsite Day Care Center and a Child Development Center that are available free of charge to students.

The University Day Care Center cares for children up to the age of 5 years and 11 months, or 8 years if they are handicapped. The center also provides nutrition and parenting workshops.

The Child Development Center can only take 20 children, and only up to the age of 2 years and 11 months.
