What Is the Way to Write a Nomination Speech?

To write an effective nomination speech, the candidate needs to outline what kind of person is right for the office and why he or she has those characteristics. If the candidate has experience or skills that give him or her an advantage, these need to be mentioned.

After an introduction that hooks the audience, the speaker needs to state directly why he or she should be nominated. This thesis states the speech’s main idea. After the thesis, the nomination speech can delve into what is needed of prospective candidates.

When attempting to sway the nominating body, the candidate must offer concrete examples as to why he or she is the best option. Concrete examples, statistics or specific instances work well to persuade the audience.
