3 Great Mountain Bikes with Grip Shifters

We've found three great mountain bikes - one for men, one for women and one for kids. You will be able to outfit the whole family for your next mountain biking adventure.

For men, the Jeep 29er Comanche Mountain Bike gets good reviews from those who bought it. List price is around $300, but you can buy it cheaper online or at special sale prices. This 29-inch bike is great for tall men. One reviewer said he is 6 feet 2 inches tall, and it's just the right size. Another guy who is 6 feet tall and 200 pounds said of the Jeep 29er Comanche that he's finally found a bike that's comfortable for him. The only complaints reviewers had was the seat was a little uncomfortable, so they changed it and now they love this bike. The bike has a handcrafted, lightweight aluminum frame, an oversized alloy handlebar and stem, front disc brake, rear linear pull break and 21-speed shifters. The Jeep 29er Comanche comes in a copper satin finish.

For women, we found the Schwinn Women's 26-inch front suspension High Timber ATB Mountain Bike S2717. One reviewer gave the Schwinn High Timber five stars and said the quality is great. The bike lists for $283, but is selling for $188.79 on Wafairs's site. The bike is made of allow, with a 21-speed drive train and SRAM grip shift shifters. Pull breaks are alloy linear. The wheels have rustproof 36 hole alloy rims with stainless steel spokes. This Schwinn mountain bike comes in light blue.

Boys and girls both will like the Kent Boy's HyperMountain Bike with 20 inch wheels. The three buyers who reviewed it all gave it five stars. One of these reviewers was the parent of a girl who said he bought it to replace the girlie bike his daughter did not like. She loves this bike. She replaced the seat but likes the way everything else works. A boy who bought it put some LED lights on it so he can ride the bike at night. His Dad, who wrote the review, said the bike works well over rock and mud terrain and the brakes and gears work well. A third reviewer bought it for his son when he was 8 years old. The father said he rode it roughly, jumping over curbs, and on trails with plenty of rocks. The bike has 20-inch wheels, 7 speed gears with twist grip shifting, welded dual suspension steel frame and down hill front suspension fork and an allow quick release seat clamp. The bike weighs 36 pounds, is 50 inches long, 24 inches wide and 36 inches high. This bike works well for 8, 9 and 10 year olds or even older kids if they are a little smaller build. Both boys and girls like this bike, but will likely graduate to 24-inch bikes by the time they are 11 or 12, or maybe even by 9 or 10. There are some nice 24-inch mountain bikes on the market for both boys and girls, so you will have plenty of options for family bike outings.
