Pool party games are a great way to keep everyone entertained and in the pool during the sweltering summer months. They introduce an air of competition and get everyone involved, which typically results in all your guests having more fun. Here are 3 games you might consider whipping out during your next pool party.
Chances are that if you were ever a kid at one point in time and ever went to a pool during your childhood then you know how to play Marco Polo. If you’ve never heard of this game the rules are simple and easy to learn. To start pick your preferred method of determining who is it. That person will then close their eyes and try to tag someone else in the pool. The person who is it will shout “Marco” and everyone else has to say “Polo” this will help them to hear how close they are to people who they can potentially tag. Once they get someone that person is then 'it'.
This game should be played in a pool that is large and at least 6 feet deep. To play you’ll need a floating pool raft and two pool noodles. The two players can choose to either sit or stand on opposite ends of the raft and commence their jousting. Essentially they can playfully hit, poke and jab at each other with the noodles without hurting anyone and the water from the pool will cushion them as they fall.
To play sharks and minnows you need to start by selecting someone to be the shark. The shark will stand in the center of the pool while the rest of the players (the minnows) stand together at one end. At the count of three all the minnows will try to swim to the opposite end of the pool without getting tagged by the shark. When a minnow is tagged they become a shark too and the game continues until everyone else is caught.
