Whether you are relatively experienced or just getting started, there are three great skateboarding tricks everyone can do. However, it is highly recommended that you wear the appropriate safety gear such as a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads before attempting these tricks. Skateboarding can be a dangerous sport and your own personal safety should not be taken lightly. Now, let's get started.
First, we have the basic ollie. The ollie is perhaps the most fundamental trick in all of skateboarding. When learning this trick, it is important that you practice it while standing still rather than moving. To begin, you need to choose your skateboard stance. You can either stand with your left foot forward or your right foot forward. Just choose whichever feels more comfortable. Then, pop the tail by pressing down with your back foot. As you do this, drag your front foot forward so you lift the board completely off the ground in one fluid motion before landing.
Next, we have the basic pop shove it. This trick is completed by doing a basic ollie and then using your back foot to rotate the board beneath you. To rotate the board, you can use your back foot to kick back the edge of the board so it rotates 180 degrees beneath you. Then, once the board is rotated, you simply return your feet to the surface of the board.
Finally, we have the body varial. Similar to the ollie, this trick is best practiced while standing still, although you can complete it while moving later on. To carry out this trick, you simply jump up in the air and turn 180 degrees before landing back on the board. This is a great trick to learn if you are just getting started. To expand upon it, try completing the trick while moving forward on the skateboard.
