If you aren't already excited for the warmer months than these 5 beauty trends to look forward to in 2012 will certainly do the trick.
Magnetic Nail Polishes
Nail polish can complete you outfit in the same way that a great piece of jewelry can. Last year, crackle nail polishes were all the rage and almost every company jumped on the bandwagon and created their own unique formula and colors. This year be on the lookout for crackle’s debonair and sexy cousin: magnetic. These new metallic nail polishes have iron powders that will raise to the surface of the polish when they come into contact with magnets and create beautiful patterns for a one of a kind manicure.
This year designers fuse together the obsessions of technology and fashion with digital imaging. Beautiful photographs ranging from landscapes to landmarks and even close up images of wrapping paper will be featured on shirts, dresses and even skirts. Often times the lines in the images will help to minimize problem areas on the body and emphasize the parts you want to show off.
The military inspired clothing and combat boots of the fall will be replaced by more airy and elegant spring clothing. The palette will feature soft pastel pinks, blues, peaches, creams and yellow as well as floral patterns and be dominated by softer fabrics like chiffon, silk and cotton. Heavy combat boots make way for smaller, thinner pumps and sandals which will help to slim out the body rather than cut it up. This style perfectly compliments both the weather and colors we see in the spring and will keep you feeling sexy and feminine.
It’s only appropriate that the upcoming 2012 Olympic Games have had a huge influence on spring and summer fashion. Don’t worry, you won’t be seeing nylon tracksuits and sweatbands in stores but you will recognize some of the structures in new everyday wear. For one hooded shirts and jackets will have a strong presence as well as sporty anoraks that are updated and feminized with a cinched waist. Shorts will be more tailored and come in a variety of lengths and materials and will look great with any other spring 2012 top.
Peplum is a ruffle attached to the waist line of any article of clothing. You will see these everywhere in 2012 attached to jackets, blazers, shirts, skirts and even dresses. This accent will slim down the waist and bring attention to any woman’s hourglass figure even if it is almost nonexistent. While it will do wonders for a waist it has the ability to make the hips appear larger so if you’re pear shaped than this might not be the best choice.
